Basic Ginger Tea Recipe


This recipe is easy and you can choose to add some variations of your choice

Ingredients

One ginger rhizome (small or medium size)
One cup of hot water
Honey (optional)

Directions

1. Peel the ginger rhizome

2. Rinse and slice the ginger to 2 or 3 pieces into a cup or mug

3. Add the hot water and leave to infuse for about 5 to 7 minutes

4. Remove the ginger slices

5. Add honey to taste(optional)

Grated Or Blended Ginger Tea Recipe


This method produces a spicier ginger tea

Ingredients

Ginger
Water
Honey

Directions

1. Peel the ginger rhizome

2. Rinse and slice the ginger.

3. Put the ginger slices into the blender or grater

4. Add the blended/ grated ginger into a kettle then add water

5. Boil the mixture for about 10 minutes

6. Strain or sieve the mixture to remove the blended or grated ginger

7. Put the resulting liquid in a cup and add honey (optional)

Variations


Ginger tea with lemon


1. If your ginger tea is too spicy for you, add more hot water to it.

2. Lime or lemon ginger tea

Squeeze some lime or lemon juice into the ginger tea you made.

3. Mixed ginger tea

Make your ginger tea first and then leave your green tea or black tea(or any other type of tea) to infuse for about few minutes. And there you have your mixed ginger tea.


Note: A cup of ginger tea tastes good but moderation matters in all things. Too much of anything even though it's natural is bad and has potential to cause problems.
Drinking a cup or two of ginger tea per day is enough.
